Dear Mr. P.Davis!
As we are, naturally, very interested in the fate of your forum, please allow us to express some of our views concerning its reorganization. A reorganization for which, in our opinion, the time has definitely come. Of course, we are not imposing anything on you (we could not possibly do so anyway as we have no right to!), we would just like to share some of our thoughts with you.
1. We believe that Huckster Heaven should be removed. While its existence used to have some reason behind it, now, with the emergence of a number of new forums with the same sections, we feel it has become obsolete, since the messages are the same everywhere.
2. There are too many sections in the forum now, some of which are hardly followed at all. This deprives the forum of clarity and simplicity. It does not have a structure.
3. Following the reduction in the number of sections it would be worth making sure that the subject matter corresponds correctly with the sections. This is not always the case at the moment. If a person has come to Happy Campground - he/she has come there for good news, and nothing else. Bad news has its own section.
By the way, anti-SG follows this principle very clearly. Try and write something positive there.
4. The practice of a thorough check for any claims which have no factual basis should be restarted, as was the case before. Especially so, since, with the appearance on our site of a new section "Hot Line", it will be very simple to do so. Any representative of the forum publicly asks us any question, and we publicly answer it. That is all. At the same time the bad practice of "players in the know", which often happens and annoys many, will be abolished once and for all.
At the moment anything can be written on Delphi, often without a signature. Any concoctions. And many believe them.
5. In actual fact, the old game ended and the new game started on 6 April. And it is going fantastically! There are no problems with it at all! The old one with its constant breakdowns, payments taking months, etc. remains in the past. This must be understood and separated clearly.
Therefore, the problems of the new game (if or when such appear) should be discussed separately from those of the old one. In different sections. Otherwise when the new player visits the forum, he/she will get the impression that everything is wrong right now!
6. Our recommended, approximate structure of the new forum.
- General section (players' questions, news, commentaries on new announcements, and so on.)
- Problems of the new game.
- Problems of the old game.
- Happy Campground.
It seems to us that this will be sufficient. Anyway, this is just a general scheme, of course. And the decision is up to you. But try and follow the correspondence of subjects more closely please. Simplicity and clarity! Nothing superfluous. Clear structure. In our opinion, unfortunately, this is what your Delphi forum is lacking at the moment.
