Famous Japanese airline company JAL was attacked by hackers. There was no chance to get to know about kind of acting group. Probably, they work on their own.
Invading into the company network, attackers were able to steal the personal information of customers, using the services of JAL. Representatives of the Japanese organization declared that the exact number of people whose personal data were stolen could not be called. However, it also was reported that the incident touched from 110 to 750 thousand people.
The results of the proceedings according to the incident fixed the fact of data miner using. It is with the help of this program that hackers managed to realize unauthorized transmission of users’ data to an external source. Now, the weirdest thing is that it was reported that the program had been installed on one of the computers in the Japanese company office. This situation induces many investigators on suspicion. In JAL also reported that the hackers had been able to get information about addresses, names and dates of birth of customers. It is noted that the e-mail addresses were also stolen.
Representatives of the Japanese airlines argue customers’ passwords from personal accounts and credit card numbers could not be stolen. The attackers could not get this information. However, these claims have not been verified yet. Perhaps the company said so to appease its torn up customers. At that moment there is an investigation of the incident in the company. And JAL is trying to find out how it could happen and why the company security service was not able to prevent the thievery.
